Minister Carroll MacNeill visits Bucharest for bilateral with the Romanian government

The Minister of State with responsibility for EU Affairs and Defence, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD, will visit Bucharest on 27-28 May to take part in political consultations with Romanian State Secretary for European Affairs, H.E. Ms. Daniela Gîtman.
The agenda for these political consultations will cover a range of bilateral, European and international policy issues, including support for Ukraine, developments in the Middle East, EU Enlargement and the Rule of Law.
Speaking ahead of the political consultations, Minister Carroll MacNeill said:
“Romania and Ireland share excellent bilateral relations and I am pleased to be visiting Bucharest to deepen the strong ties that exist between our countries.
“I look forward to meeting with the Romanian State Secretary for European Affairs, H.E. Ms. Daniela Gîtman, to discuss a wide range of bilateral and international issues.
“These consultations present a valuable opportunity to discuss both challenges and opportunities which Ireland and Romania collectively face as EU Member States, as well as ways of addressing them.”
