Project Ireland 2040 prioritises linking our regions and urban areas not just to Dublin but to each other. This will be a major enabler for balanced regional development to occur. A particular priority in this is substantially delivering the Atlantic Corridor, with a high quality road network linking Cork, Limerick, Galway and Sligo. The Sligo Distributor road project has planning and it is expected that construction will commence in 2018 and be completed in 2020. N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin.
The project will replace a section of the N4 between Dublin and Sligo to improve road safety. The scheme is currently at tender with anticipated award on or before Q1/2019.
