Over €410 million in social protection measures as part of government cost of living supports

The Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys, has announced details of a €410 million social welfare package to support families, pensioners, carers and people with disabilities.
The measures, in addition to the €2.2 billion of supports in Budget 2023, underline the government’s continued commitment to address the increased cost of living being experienced by people relying on social welfare payments and by working families.
The measures announced today include:
- There will be one €200 lump sum paid, even if a person receives more than one qualifying social welfare payment
The €200 lump sum payment to recipients of long-term social welfare payments:
Note: One payment will be made per primary recipient.
