100 post-primary schools have been selected to offer Leaving Certificate Drama, Film and Theatre Studies or Leaving Certificate Climate Action and Sustainable Development from the start of the 2025/26 school year.
57 post-primary schools have been selected to introduce Leaving Certificate Drama, Film and Theatre Studies from the start of the 2025/26 school year and 43 schools have been selected for Leaving Certificate Climate Action and Sustainable Development.
Two selection committees consisting of members from the Senior Cycle Redevelopment Programme Management Office (SCRPMO), Oide, NCCA and the Inspectorate were established to assess each application received under the Call for Applications. The committees assessed applications against the selection criteria notified in the call for applications; previous involvement in early roll out of a subject, school readiness and current provision.
The final selection also took account of school types, location, size, DEIS status and Irish language classification, ensuring that the final selection reflects the broad composition of schools across Ireland that applied to be part of the process.
