Individuals with an RPT appointment are paid directly via the Department’s payroll.
Salary is calculated by taking your point on the common basic salary scale plus any allowances payable to you, dividing it by 26.09 to get the fortnightly rate and then divide it by 50 and multiplying it by the number of hours you are working to get your personal rate of pay.
The arrangements are outlined in the following circular;
The arrangements are outlined in circular 61/2010 below:
Individuals with a CNCA appointment are paid via the Online Claims System. You are classified as CNCA if you commence employment as a part time teacher after the first working day in November.
Salary will vary on a fortnightly basis for two reasons:
The Department processes the payroll on a fortnightly basis. The dates of payment are displayed on your pay slip.
If you were due payment you should contact the school as nonpayment would be an indication that your appointments were not processed through the OLCS prior to the closure of the payroll.
Individuals with a CNCA appointment are paid via the Online Claims System. You are classified as CNCA if you commence employment as a part time teacher after the first working day in November.
Salary is calculated on the basis of your annual basic pay plus your qualification allowance divided by 915 hours for your hourly rate.
Part time teachers on this 'CNCA' (Casual / Non Casual appointment) are not paid for July or August.
Hours are input to OLCS by the school. You should contact the school to provide you with a printout of what claims were processed for each payroll.
In order to progress up the incremental scale a Casual or Non Casual teacher requires a combination of 600 casual and non-casual hours.
All qualified non casual service is deemed to be incremental.
Qualified casual salary is calculated by multiplying the hours worked by the qualified hourly rate applicable at the time.
Unqualified casual salary is calculated by multiplying the hours worked by unqualified hourly rate applicable at the time.
Post-primary non casual salary for teachers appointed post 2011 is calculated by totaling the annual rate and then dividing by 735 hours and multiplying by the number of hours worked.
It should be noted that if a teacher is working both casual and non casual hours both rates will be applied to casual service less than 150 hours
