NCEC National Clinical Audit Number: 1

The Major Trauma Audit (MTA) was launched in December 2016, as the first NCEC National Clinical Audit. The MTA is one of the National Office of Clinical Audit’s (NOCA) suite of National Clinical Audits. It uses the internationally recognised Trauma Audit and Research Network (TARN) methodology and has its own Governance Committee.
NCEC endorsement mandates that the appropriate services engage with the NCEC MTA National Clinical Audit, thereby superseding all other national clinical audits on the topic.

The Perinatal Mortality Audit was launched in April 2022, as the second NCEC National Clinical Audit. The Perinatal Mortality Audit is one of the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre’s (NPEC) suite of National Clinical Audits. The NPEC aligns its audit governance structures to the NOCA and the audit and has its own Governance Committee.
NCEC endorsement mandates that the appropriate services engage with the NCEC National Clinical Audit of Perinatal Mortality, thereby superseding all other national clinical audits on the topic.
