The Department's Organisational Capability Review was commenced in December 2019 under Action 20 of the Civil Service Renewal Plan . It is the sixth review of the programme and was carried out by a team from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, supported and assisted by a liaison officer from the Department of Rural and Community Development. Consistent with the previous reviews, it followed a set format to examine the Department’s capability under four over-arching filters – Leadership; Policy and Strategy; Delivery; and Organisational Capacity. The final report was submitted in June 2020.
The Organisational Capability Review Implementation Plan is the Department’s response to the review. It reflects the Department’s commitment to address the findings and implement the recommendations. The plan comprises a broad mix of small and larger transformational actions that will facilitate delivery of the Department’s ambitious policy agenda and support it as a champion for rural and community development.
The Implementation Plan will be implemented over a three-year period from 2021 to 2023.
