Heritage Ireland 2030 is Ireland’s new national heritage plan. It is built around a vision of our heritage – in all its forms – being at very centre of local and national discourse, valued by all and cared for and protected for future generations.
At the heart of this framework are three themes: communities, leadership and partnerships. These themes reflect the importance of ongoing collaboration between government and communities, heritage organisations, individuals and local authorities in caring and planning for our shared heritage.
Heritage Ireland 2030 suggests a series of structures under which all these stakeholders can come together to advance the protection of Ireland’s heritage through over 150 actions. These structures will be established in Q1 and Q2 of 2022 ahead of the publication of an implementation plan in Q3 which will assign actions and timeframes to responsible stakeholders.
Updates on this process will be shared here and through the Department’s social media channels. Queries about the plan can be directed to heritageireland2030@housing.gov.ie
