Ulster Bank has confirmed they are starting to freeze some current and deposit accounts from Friday 11 November 2022.
If you are still getting a social welfare payment into an Ulster Bank account please contact us to change your payment details as soon as possible. The quickest and easiest way for you to change your details is at MyWelfare.ie.
If you are impacted by these closures you can contact the scheme area for your payment.

If you get a social welfare payment such as Child Benefit or State Pension into an Ulster Bank or KBC Bank account, you will need to make arrangements to have your payment paid into another bank, post office or credit union account
The quickest and easiest way for you to change your details is at MyWelfare.ie.
Updating payment details online is available to the majority of people who have a verified MyGovID account. However, where this facility is not available to you, please forward new payment details by hard copy to the department. You can use the form DIR PMT1 available here to change to another financial institution.
If you wish to collect your payment at a nominated post office please contact the department in writing with the detail of your chosen Post Office, please make sure to include your PPSN, Name and Address. The address for our offices is located with the office phone numbers here.
To avoid disruption to your social welfare payment, please update your details before closing your Ulster Bank or KBC Bank account.
