Sláintecare hosted a Right Care, Right Place, Right Time, Webinar - ‘‘Supporting our workforce to deliver Enhanced Community Care” on 29th September 2022.
The theme of this webinar was ‘‘Supporting our workforce to deliver Enhanced Community Care”.
The Integrated Care Programme for the prevention and management of Chronic Disease worked in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions in Ireland 2016-2019 to develop and commence the implementation of a National Standard Undergraduate Curriculum for the prevention and management of Chronic disease.
The webinar opened with a welcome address from Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, TD. This was followed by contributions from Dr Orlaith O Reilly, National Clinical Advisor and Programme Group Lead for Chronic Disease, Clinical Design & Innovation, Office of the Chief Clinical Officer, HSE who outlined the developments in service delivery and the impacts for the prevention and management of Chronic Disease. Denise Dunne, Operational Lead Integrated Care Programme Chronic Disease, Galway City Ambulatory Hub discussed her service on the ground and the impact on patients. Dr Deirdre Connolly, Professor in Occupational Therapy, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St. James’ Hospital, Dublin gave an overview of the content of the MECC and SMS curricula and included case studies.
The webinar finished with an engaging panel discussion where we were joined by Ted Hayes, Patient representative Group, COPD Ireland, Pat Healy National Director Clinical Programme Implementation & Professional Development, Health Service Executive and Derval Howley – Head of Service Health and Wellbeing, HSE
