Department of Education and Skills via Higher Education Authority (HEA): To enable statistical returns to the Department of Education and Skills.

The PPS Number is used as the unique identifier for Students/Learners. Sometimes queries arise with the Department of Social Protection in relation to both illness benefit claims and PRSI classes. Correspondence on these matters would include the PPS number as a unique identifier.
