We have published a new stratigraphic framework for the geology of Offshore Ireland. The work provides an updated, consistent and official naming system for the geological units offshore Ireland and will be an important geological reference for any work in the Irish offshore.
Additionally, a special publication The Stratigraphic Nomenclature of the Irish Offshore Basins, has been produced on the naming system, the themes and stories behind the new geological unit names together with guidelines for the naming of new units in the future.
