The ‘Be Winter Ready’ 2024 - 2025 Information Campaign was launched on 30 October 2024.
The campaign was jointly launched by James Lawless T.D, Minister of State at the Department of Transport with responsibility for International and Road Transport and Logistics, and Kieran O’Donnell T.D, Minister of State with responsibility for the office of public works.
Be Winter Ready 2024/2025 provides advice to the public on preparing for and overcoming the difficulties which the winter months can present.
An information leaflet provides advice on road safety, flooding, farm safety, mental health and severe weather during the winter monthThe campaign highlights the ‘whole-of-government’ approach being taken to winter preparations. It aims to provide advice and information to the general public on issues which may affect them during the winter months in Ireland, such as how to prepare for severe weather, where to source information, and personal actions that can be taken in order to become more resilient in their winter readiness.
Advice on driving during the winter months and periods of severe weather is provided under the important theme of Road Safety and Winter Driving - Plan, Prepare, Be Aware. and reinforces the need for all road users to be vigilant and prepared for the weather.
