The 17th Sláintecare Right Care Right Place Right Time webinar “Healthy Age Friendly Homes” went live on Thursday 28 April 2022.
Healthy Age Friendly Homes is a Sláintecare and Age Friendly Ireland joint programme. It works with older people to improve their living conditions through access to continued health and social care supports and tailored community supports. The initiative is a two year programme running across 9 Local Authority areas and seeks to support up to 4,500 older people during this period.
The webinar opened with messages from Mary Butler, Minister for Mental Health and Older People, and Peter Burke, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. We then heard from people who have benefitted from the programme, as well as colleagues from a range of organisations involved in delivering this innovative person-centred programme.
Catherine McGuigan, Chief Officer Age Friendly Ireland, Andrew Hannigan, Sláintecare, DOH, Des Mulligan, HSE Integrated Care of Programmes for Older People and Claire Naughton, Social Inclusion, Dept of Housing joined us for a panel discussion.
Healthy Age Friendly Homes is contributing to the Sláintecare goals of providing safe and timely access to care, improving patient and service user experience, and bringing care closer to home #RightCareRightPlaceRightTime
