The Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2015 (No. 27 of 2015) was signed by the Presidential Commission on 22 July 2015 and commenced on August 1st 2015 by way of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2015 (S.I. 329 of 2015).
The Act provides, firstly, for the reintroduction of a mechanism for the registration of employment agreements between an employer or employers and trade unions governing remuneration and conditions of employment in individual enterprises. It also provides for a new statutory framework for establishing minimum rates of remuneration and pension and sick pay, to replace the former sectoral Registered Employment Agreements. Secondly it provides for amendments to the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Acts 2001 - 2004 to give effect to the Programme for Government commitment to reform the current law on collective bargaining.
