Geraldine Hurley is Assistant Secretary with responsibility for Human Resources. This includes:

HR Strategy and Performance
HR Workforce Planning
Staff Development
Industrial Relations
Staff Engagement and Innovation
Provision of advice to the department on its obligations under the relevant data protection legislation
Overseeing the Legal Affairs Unit – with legal advisors providing legal advice to the department on all aspects of social protection legislation
Co-ordinating the department’s input into EU and international matters, including as alternative member of the Employment and Social Affairs Council
