Responsibility as Chief Archaeologist, working alongside PO National Monuments Service, for the management and protection of Ireland’s archaeological heritage through the provision of an appropriate and effective administrative, policy and legislative framework under the National Monuments Act, while promoting increased public awareness and appreciation of that heritage and the provision of information on our archaeological heritage as a support and stimulus for inward investment and cultural tourism.
