Telephone Support Allowance is a weekly payment for people who live alone and are already in receipt of certain other social welfare payments. It assists with the cost of communications and home security solutions.
It is paid at a single rate of €2.50 a week.
The allowance is paid automatically to people who are in receipt of one of the qualifying payments listed below and both the Living Alone Allowance and Fuel Allowance.
There is no application form.
The Telephone Support Allowance is an extra €2.50 per week, in addition to your primary payment, Living Alone and Fuel Allowance.
It is equivalent to €130 annually.
If you believe you qualify for the Telephone Support Allowance, but are not receiving it after 4 June 2018, you can contact one of the following offices depending on which payment you receive.
