Authorisations under Section 14 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act 1959
Certain activities such as scientific research, fishery development or restocking, require a Section 14 Authorisation from the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications.
To apply for an authorisation, an application must be made by email or in writing to the Inland Fisheries Division.

The application should include: background information regarding the proposed electro fishing operation, purpose of the proposed work together with location map and time frame, that is, proposed commencement and completion dates.
An authorisation, if granted, may be subject to certain conditions and will generally be time bound.
