Civil and Public servants aged under 66 who are paying PRSI at Class B, C or D and retire due to ill health are entitled to credited contributions for each week they are certified unfit for work.
The credited contributions will continue cover for Widow's (Contributory), Widower's (Contributory) or Surviving Civil Partner’s (Contributory) Pension. They are only awarded on receipt of medical certification of illness and inability to work to cover the period in question.
You will qualify if you have retired from work on ill health grounds and you submit a medical certificate.
On receipt of the medical certificate, credited contributions are awarded.
You should complete the CR35 application form below and send it with supporting documents to:
