Abhaile is a State-funded service which is provided free of charge to insolvent borrowers who are in danger of losing their homes due to mortgage arrears.
The aim of Abhaile is to help mortgage holders in arrears to find the best solutions for their circumstances and keep them, wherever possible, in their own homes.
The Scheme contains 6 services to help borrowers, which are divided into financial and legal services.
The ISI manages the PIP service under the scheme and they provide specified fixed services, free of charge to the borrower, at fixed fees payable by the Scheme, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions for Personal Insolvency Practitioners under the Abhaile Scheme
Access to this service is by way of a payment voucher issued by the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) to all eligible borrowers.
