Typing tuition is available to visually impaired pupils on the recommendation of a visiting teacher for the visually impaired.
The department can provide a maximum of 20 hours’ typing tuition to a school to help improve the typing skills of a pupil.
The scheme is operated through the school and the teacher must be suitably qualified to give this tuition. When the tuition is completed the teacher involved should submit a report on the pupil’s progress to the visiting teacher.
The application form below must be completed and submitted to Special Education Section by the school principal or CEO of the Educational and Training Board (ETB).
A section of the form must be completed by the Visiting Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
