Assigned responsibility at Assistant Principal Officer higher level for operations management and service delivery in the Surveying Function of Tailte Éireann.

There are four main functions in Tailte Éireann, each function is headed by a Chief Officer at Assistant Secretary General level.

The Surveying function has responsibility for the operation of the national mapping service by creating and maintaining the definitive national mapping and related geographic records and services. This includes maintaining and developing the underlying physical infrastructure which is needed to support spatial applications, including to maintain a national grid and the national geodetic and height frameworks and to link these to international systems.
