Mary O’Dea is Chief Executive of IOB (Institute of Banking), Ireland’s largest professional membership body and a recognized College of UCD. Mary joined IOB in April 2018 from the Central Bank of Ireland where she was Director of Securities and Markets Supervision. She was previously Ireland’s representative at the World Bank and prior to that held the role of Alternate Executive Director with the International Monetary Fund. Mary previously held several director roles with the Central Bank of Ireland, including Director of Financial Operations, Consumer Director and Acting Chief Executive of the Financial Regulator.
Mary is a member of the Governing Authority of University College Dublin (UCD) and has previously held Independent Non-Executive Director roles with Euronext Dublin (the Irish Stock Exchange) and with CC&G, an Italian clearing house which is part of the Euronext group. Mary holds Master’s degrees in Economics (UCD), Investment and Treasury Management (DCU), and in Business and Executive Coaching (UCD Smurfit School). Mary is also a Certified Bank Director and a Coaching Constellations Practitioner.
