Ireland’s macroeconomic position has improved substantially when compared with the unsustainable pre-crisis situation and the deterioration that occurred during the crisis period.
This turnaround is as evident in the current account of the balance of payments as anywhere.
The current account is an indicator of external economic imbalances, in particular sustainability and competitiveness.
