The History of the Department of Finance 1959-1999

In October 2019, following a competitive application process administered by the Irish Research Council, Dr Ciarán Casey was appointed to write the second volume of The History of the Department of Finance covering the years 1958 to 1999.

This video goes behind the scenes of the three year research project ahead of the books launch in September 2022.

About the Irish Research Council

The Irish Research Council was established in 2012 and is an associated agency of the Department of Education and Skills under the aegis of the Higher Education Authority.
