Aditi is 25 years old and is an urban planner by profession.
She received a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Urban Planning. Originally from India, she relocated to Ireland during the pandemic, where she was awarded the UCD Engineering and Architecture Graduate Scholarship, enabling her to pursue a Master’s in Regional and Urban Planning from UCD. Aditi is a Graduate Member of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and progressing towards becoming a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Currently residing in Dublin, she works as a Planning and Strategy Consultant with KPMG Future Analytics in KPMG Ireland. She has experience in a variety of development and strategic planning projects for both public and private sector clients in Ireland. These range from planning applications for mid to large-scale residential developments, mixed-use developments, and infrastructural developments, to planning appeals, compliance submissions, development feasibility studies, national studies on policy interventions to accelerate housing development delivery, and the preparation of regeneration plans, Local Area Plans, and Town Centre First Plans.
Throughout her life, she has lived and travelled across several countries in Asia and Europe, each with distinct geographies, scales, and urban landscapes, which sparked her interest in the evolution of the built environment and the role of planning in shaping everyone’s day-to-day lives, such as addressing urgent housing needs. Growing up in a car-free household particularly heightened her interest in infrastructural development, as it plays a crucial role in facilitating efficient public transport.
Outside of work, Aditi has a passion for landscape photography and mentoring individuals for career development. She also enjoys hiking, cycling, swimming, going to the gym, baking, and loves travelling and exploring new countries.
Through her contribution to the Building Heroes Campaign, Aditi aims to inspire second level students to consider a career in urban planning, highlighting the diverse opportunities and the significant role planners play in creating a vibrant, functional, and resilient urban environment.
