Equity of access to higher education is a fundamental principle of Irish education policy. One of the main objectives of the government is to promote access for disadvantaged groups and to put in place coherent pathways from:
- second-level education
- further education
- other non-traditional entry routes
National Plan for Equity of Access to Higher Education 2015-2021
This plan was originally set to run between 2015-2019 but has been extended until 2021
