Public Service Transformation Secondment Programme

Expressions of interest are invited from across the Irish Public Service for seconded assignments to the Public Service Transformation Division in the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation (DPER). There are opportunities at Higher Executive Officer (HEO), Administrative Officer (AO), Assistant Principal Officer (AP) or equivalent grades.

This secondment programme offers a unique opportunity to contribute to transformative approaches in public service delivery. Successful secondees will be joining a dynamic, interdisciplinary team that is supporting and driving transformative approaches to the delivery of public services in order to make the lives of our public better.

Participants will collaborate with colleagues from across sectors, gaining valuable experience, expanding professional networks, and developing new skills in a supportive and future-focused environment. The programme is designed to harness the diverse expertise of public servants and apply it to national reform priorities under the Better Public Services strategy.

The secondment will be for a period of two years from November 2025 during which participants will actively contribute to the delivery of Ireland’s vision for inclusive, high-quality, and integrated public services,
