The Office of Government Procurement (OGP) was established under the aegis of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform in 2014 and, together with four key sectors (Health, Local Government, Education and Defence), has responsibility for sourcing all goods and services across the public service. The OGP and its sector partners implement framework agreements and contracts through which public sector bodies can buy goods and services.
Key functions of the OGP are to:
- Integrate procurement policy, strategy and operations in one office;
- Strengthen spend analytics and data management;
- Secure sustainable savings.
The OGP manages the national tendering platform, eTenders and a dedicated construction procurement website, which provides a framework suite of documents for capital works management.
The Office of Government Procurement website provides further details.
