The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has responsibility for Government Reform policy development, which includes the preparation of the following pieces of legislation:
- the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015
- the Regulation of Lobbying and Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Act 2023
- the Ethics in Public Office Act 1995
- the Standards in Public Office Act 2001
- the Protected Disclosures Act 2014
- the Freedom of Information Act 2014
- Statute Law Revision Acts
- Houses of the Oireachtas Inquiries, Privileges and Procedures Act 2013
- the Ombudsman Amendment Act 2012
It also includes policy development on Open Data in Ireland and Ireland's participation in the Open Government Partnership, as well as the development of Consultation Principles and Guidance, which provide guidance for public bodies who are carrying out public consultations.
