EURES: DIALOG - Information for Migrant Workers in Ireland

DIALOG is a EURES Ireland initiative aimed at providing a platform for identifying the labour market issues of EU and EEA workers living in Ireland and a platform for developing solutions.
The purpose of the project is to:
- develop a greater understanding of the issues facing migrant workers in Ireland
- develop solutions
- support the integration of migrant workers in Ireland
The DIALOG Project intends to develop a network of service providers covering all aspects of the migration process as it affects these workers.
DIALOG is based on co-operation between the EURES departments of other EU countries who represent the various nationalities in Ireland and varying government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) concerned with migrants in Ireland, including:
- Department of Social Protection
- Citizens Information
- Immigrant Council of Ireland
- Workplace Relations Commission (Employment Rights)
- Employment for People from Immigrant Communities (EPIC)
- SIPTU Trade Union
- Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dublin
- Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Dublin
- Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Ireland
- EURES Latvia
- EURES Lithuania
- EURES Poland
- EURES Slovakia
- EURES Romania
DIALOG's aim is to commence a direct dialogue with migrants in Ireland.
DIALOG seminars and workshops
Regular DIALOG seminars and workshops for jobseekers take place around the country addressing the issues and problems they experience while living in Ireland.
These include:
- workshops for unemployed (career guidance, interview preparation and CV writing advice, supports available for unemployed)
- information sessions on training and up-skilling
- returning home
- ‘Bi-National Business start-up seminars’ (information and advice on business start-up in Ireland or other European countries, including Mentor Clinics run by Business start-up Mentors)
