Intreo is a single point of contact for all employment and income supports and is part of the Department of Social Protection. Intreo offers a wide range of employment supports and services to employers.

Recruitment

JobsIreland is a free advertising and recruitment website that connects employers to people looking for work or people changing jobs. JobsIreland provides employers with a platform to advertise job vacancies and connect to suitable jobseekers.

European Employment Service (EURES)

Employers can use the European Employment Service (EURES)to expand their recruitment options and access the European job market. Our EURES advisers are available to give expert advice on recruiting candidates from Europe. For more information visit www.eures.europa.eu


Job Matching and Events

Intreo has a large and diverse jobseeker database, which is used to notify and match jobseekers to vacancies advertised on JobsIreland.

Intreo also hosts national and local recruitment events and connects employers to jobseekers through a mix of in-person events and online webinars.


Work Placement

The Work Placement Experience Programme provides an employer with the opportunity to host a participant on a six-month work placement at no cost to the company. Participants are paid a weekly allowance by the Department of Social Protection.

All participants engage in 60 hours of relevant training to support their development while on placement. Further details are available on the Work Placement Experience Programme - Employerspage.


Disability Supports

Intreo offers a range of schemes to support employers in hiring people with disabilities:

  • the Wage Subsidy Scheme is a financial incentive for employers to hire people with a disability
  • the Work and Access scheme provides employers with the following supports to hire people with disabilities:

o Workplace Needs Assessment to assist in identifying employees need for additional supports.

o Workplace Adaptation to accommodate additional employee needs.

o Disability Equality and Inclusion Training to provide employers and organisations with access to training for staff to gain a better awareness and understanding of disabilities in the workplace.

Financial Subsidies

JobsPlus is a financial incentive that rewards employers who provide full-time employment to qualifying jobseekers. An employer can avail of financial support of €7,500 or €10,000. This subsidy is paid to an employer every month over a total of 18 months. Learn more about JobsPlus


Employment and Youth Engagement Charter

The Employment and Youth Engagement Charter provides an opportunity for an employer to help tackle unemployment and build greater inclusion in the workplace. You can become a Charter Champion by joining a community of responsible and inclusive employers who provide opportunities to jobseekers who may otherwise find it hard to progress into employment.

To sign up to the Charter;

  • choose at least two commitments from the Charter
  • sign the Charter document and return to employer@welfare.ie
