Brian O'Meara

As Head of the Department’s International Security and Defence Policy Branch, Brian has responsibility for:

• the ongoing assessment, formulation and development of Government policy on Ireland’s security and defence policy issues

• Ireland’s engagement in the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy

• Ireland’s participation in Partnership for Peace and in Overseas missions

• Ireland’s engagement in the European Defence Agency and OSCE, and in general, Ireland’s international relations in the Defence arena
