Cinntí maidir le Cumasc Meán

De réir Chuid 3A den Acht Iomaíochta 2002 déanann an tAire Turasóireachta, Cultúir, Ealaíon, Gaeltachta, Spóirt agus Meán scrúdú tosaigh 'Chéim 1' ar chumaisc meán bheartaithe. Is é cuspóir an scrúdaithe seo measúnú a dhéanamh ar a dtionchar ar iolrachas na meán sa Stát.

Bunaithe ar thorthaí an scrúdaithe “Chéim 1” sin déanann an tAire cinneadh.

Tá trí rogha ag an Aire agus a gcinneadh á dhéanamh acu:

• an cumasc a chur ar aghaidh chuig Coimisiún na Meán le haghaidh tuilleadh grinnscrúdaithe — tugtar scrúdú “Chéim 2” air sin
• an cumasc a cheadú le coinníollacha a fhorchuirtear chun iolrachas na meán a chosaint
• ligean don chumasc dul ar aghaidh mar atá beartaithe
