Minister Catherine Martin T.D. expresses condolences on the passing of Colm Ó Briain

The Minister for Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht, Catherine Martin, T.D. has expressed her condolences to the family and friends of Colm Ó Briain, former Director of the Arts Council.

Minister Martin said: “Colm Ó Briain will be remembered for his long and impressive career serving the arts community in this country for many years and in many different roles. Colm was the Director of the Arts Council from 1975 – 1983 and he also served as special advisor to Ireland’s first Minister for Arts, Culture and Gaeltacht, now President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins. I wish to offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Colm at this very difficult time.”
