Launch of the new Prison Officer recruitment campaign

The 2025 Prison Officer recruitment campaign has opened for applications.

Applications will be accepted online through the publicjobs website starting from 4 July 2025. More information about the application process can be found on the Irish Prison Service website.

Applicants will face a multi-stage selection process, including written assessments, physical fitness tests, interviews, and background checks. Those who successfully progress will receive full training and on-the-job mentorship to prepare them for the role.

The campaign aims to identify and appoint new prison officers to support the ongoing operation and development of Ireland’s prison system.
