Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence (DSGBV) includes consideration of domestic violence (which can include physical, psychological, emotional, and financial abuse and sexual violence), rape and sexual assault, prostitution and trafficking, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, sexual harassment, stalking and related acts, forced abortion and forced sterilisation together with new and emerging forms of DSGBV e.g. cyber violence.

Tackling Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence, in all its forms, is a priority for The Department of Justice which has lead policy responsibility within Government to tackle such violence.

  • Domestic Violence provides information on: what domestic violence is; help and support that is available to victims of domestic violence; practical information for people who are concerned for someone else they believe is a victim of domestic violence and; information on legal protections. It also has information for programmes that are available for people who are concerned about their own violent behaviour and want to change and advice for people who are under 18 years of age and have experienced domestic violence in their home. ...more on Domestic Violence
  • Sexual Violence provides information for victims of sexual harassment and sexual violence, both recent and historical. It has practical advice for people who are concerned for someone else they believe is a victim of sexual violence.   • Intimate Image Abuse has information on: the law on sharing or threatening to share an intimate image without consent; what support is available to someone who is a victim of Intimate Image Abuse; and steps that can be taken to report the crime and get the image removed. ...more on Intimate Image Abuse
