Legal Aid - Custody Issues Scheme (Formerly the Attorney General’s Scheme)

The Legal Aid - Custody Issues Scheme provides payment for legal representation in certain types of legal cases not covered by civil legal aid or the criminal legal aid scheme.
Responsibility for the administration of claims under the Scheme transferred from the department to the Legal Aid Board with effect from 1 June 2012.
From that date, all correspondence, claims for payment and queries should be addressed to the Legal Aid Board as follows:
