Garda Inspectorate Report - Responding to child sexual abuse

The Garda Siochana Inspectorate report: Responding to Child Sexual Abuse – A Follow-up Review followed up on progress made in relation to recommendations in its 2012 report and identified areas where further progress was needed.
In accordance with the Government decision, dated 27 February 2018, an independently chaired inter-agency Implementation Group was established to examine and drive forward the implementation of recommendations in the follow-up report. Chaired by Ms. Caroline Biggs SC, the Group’s membership comprised senior officials from the Departments of Justice; Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, and Public Expenditure & Reform, as well as senior officers from An Garda Síochána and Tusla. The Implementation Group held its first meeting on 11 June 2018 and was required to report to Cabinet Committee B (Social Policy and Public Services) on a quarterly basis. The first of these progress reports was completed in October 2018.
The First Progress Report of The Inter-Agency Implementation Group was published in January 2019.
The second, third and fourth reports were published together in August 2023.
