The Department of Justice is committed to contributing to the resolution of outstanding issues in the Northern Ireland Peace Process. The Department is committed to securing an end to all forms of paramilitarism on the island of Ireland and to supporting the democratic institutions in Northern Ireland.

The Department also promotes co-operation between North and South in the fields of criminal justice and policing.
