Michael Taft

Michael Taft is a Research Officer for SIPTU. He was nominated to the National Competitiveness & Productivity Council by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU).

Michael has worked in the trade union movement since the 1990s in a research role. This research has focused on critical aspects of competition policy as they impact on wages, working conditions and living standards at both enterprise and economy-wide level.

Prior to his current role, Michael was employed by the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union in 1997 as a research assistant to the Regional Secretary’s office and was subsequently employed as Research and Policy Officer of Unite the Union in 2007.
