The budget for the Department of Rural and Community Development for 2022 is €376 million, an increase of €35 million on 2021.
The funding is provided to deliver on Our Rural Future, and to continue and enhance community development supports across the country.
The allocation includes an additional €23 million in capital funding, supporting delivery of the National Development Plan, and also providing €12 million for enhanced current funding supports in 2022.
The funding provided will ensure the department continues its range of successful schemes and programmes, and maintains or increases funding levels for these.
It allows the department to continue to facilitate the agencies of the department, namely the Charities Regulator, the Western Development Commission, Pobal, and Water Safety Ireland to continue their important work.
