Minister Ring opens the Drumlish to Monaduff Walkway in Co. Longford

Mr Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development , today (Thursday 5 March) officially opened the Drumlish to Monaduff Walkway in Co. Longford supported by his Department under the 2018 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).

Speaking at the opening, Minister Ring said:

“The ORIS programme was launched in 2017 and over €44 million has been invested in outdoor recreational projects like this one, supporting over 600 projects around the country. Of this, Longford has been allocated over €2.5 million.

“This excellent amenity was made possible with funding of €200,000 under the 2018 ORIS programme. A word of thanks must also go to the landowners who gave the use of their land to facilitate this walkway and the local community for their vision for Monaduff, Drumlish and their surrounds. Community spirit is clearly alive and well here in Longford.”
