The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) investigates aviation occurrences that occur within the state of Ireland and co-ordinate and co-operate with other safety investigation authorities overseas, in particular, with those authorities who conduct investigations into Irish registered / operated aircraft abroad.
