An Environmental Analysis of the Irish (Internationally Trading) Fleet

An analysis of the environmental impact of the Irish flagged (internationally trading) fleet has been carried out to evaluate what the environmental standard of Irish shipping is from an international perspective, focusing on air pollution and emissions. It provides an overview of the current Irish flag and compares it with thirteen other flags across several categories relating to their environmental impact. The analysis fulfils Action 293 of the Climate Action Plan 2021 - Annex of Actions, and Action 32 of the Irish Maritime Directorate’s (IMD) Strategy 2021-2025.
