List of Mountain Rescue Teams in Ireland

Any request for emergency assistance in the upland and mountainous areas on the island of Ireland is met by a volunteer response from one of the 11 mountain rescue teams that compose Mountain Rescue Ireland (M.R.I.).
These teams are on stand by 24/7/365 to respond to requests for assistance are tasked through the 999/112 emergency phone system.
- Donegal MRT - Mountains of Co. Donegal
- Dublin/Wicklow MRT - Cooley Mountains, Dublin and Wicklow
- Glen of Imaal (Red Cross) MRT - South & West Co. Wicklow
- South-Eastern MRA (SEMRA) - Blackstairs, Comeraghs, Galtees, Slieve Blooms
- Kerry MRT - Cork & Kerry mountains
- Galway MRT - Connemara, Twelve Bens
- Mayo MRT - Croagh Patrick, Nephins, Mweelreas
- Sligo/Leitrim MRT - Sligo, Leitrim, West Cavan
- North West MRT - Sperrins,Co.Tyrone: Cuilcaghs,
- Mournes MRT - Mourne Mtns, Co.Down
The above Mountain Rescue teams are managed by the Irish Mountain Rescue Association.
They are also sometimes helped by the Search and Rescue Dogs of Ireland Association.
