There are multiple ways to become a Social Worker. You could undertake a:
• Paid apprenticeship programme
• NFQ Level 8 course and a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work Studies or Social Work
• NFQ Level 8 course and a Master of Arts degree in Social Work

Social Work is a profession regulated by CORU, thatthe Health and Social Care Professionals Council. CORU regulates to protect the public by promoting high standards of professional conduct, education, training and competence through statutory registration of health and social care professionals. If you have already qualified as a Social Worker outside of Ireland, you can apply for registration with CORU by having your qualifications recognised.
