This section provides information on a range of supports provided to children, both formal and informal. This includes school, housing, and community supports; antenatal care; immunisation; and other health supports.
Data are drawn from the Health Behaviour of School-aged Children (HBSC) surveys; National Perinatal Reporting System; the CSO (Vital Statistics; Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC)); the Housing Agency; the Triennial Assessment of Housing Needs; the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) surveys; the National Treatment Purchase Fund; the Health Research Board; the Healthcare Pricing Office; the Health Protection Surveillance Centre; the World Health Organization (WHO); Eurostat; the Garda Diversion Programme; and Tusla.
Accessing Data: In line with the government’s Open Data Initiative, much of the data is now available in an open, machine-readable format. The majority of the data is housed in the Central Statistics Office’s (CSO) PxStat system. In recent publications, click on the heading of each table and figure to access the data source.
