PME Fee Refund Scheme – apply now!

Are you a newly qualified teacher (NQT), awarded a Professional Master of Education (PME) in 2024? Here’s some news you might be interested in.

The PME Fee Refund Scheme, introduced in Budget 2024, is here to give you financial support as you start your teaching career.

If you completed a PME in 2024, you could receive a €2,000 refund (subject to statutory deductions) from mid-2025. To qualify, you simply need to :

• Be registered with the Teaching Council under Route 1 (primary) or Route 2 (post-primary), and
• Teach for a specified period during the 2024/25 school year.

This scheme is all about supporting you while helping schools get the teachers they need.
